A Phillips electron microscope is located in the University Hospital (see Fig.2).

Molecular biology unit

Molecular biology unit is located in private facility (Biopticka laborator sro) to which traineers have full access. Molecular biology services are an integral part of both routine work and research and are provided by 9 molecular biologists and 5 technicians performing FISH, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing (including NGS -next generation sequencing) and fragment analysis for the detection of chromosomal translocations, losses and gains, determination of clonality, analysis of loss of heterozygosity and detection of germline and somatic mutations or the presence of a particular infection. The detailed list of molecular biology services is available at www.biopticka.cz (see Fig.3).

GU slide collections

Selected cases are available at present for self-study. For each case, a basic clinical information, basic immunoprofile, and molecular genetic data (when needed) are provided. Also copy of a reference article or correspondent part of a textbook is provided. Additionally, trainees have access to the private slide collections of Drs Ondrej Hes and Michal Michal. (see Fig.4 and Fig.5).

Multihead microscopes

In Dpt of Pathology in University Hospital, 5-place multihead microscope is available, Bioptická laboratoř possesses a 31-place multihead microscope (see Fig.6).
